Assemblies

We have daily assemblies that take place either in the hall collectively, or in classrooms with class teachers. Assemblies play a central role in our weekly rhythm, offering opportunities for children to come together, reflect, celebrate and grow. Each week begins with our Picture News assembly, where children explore current events and discuss topical issues in a safe and open environment. These assemblies help develop critical thinking and incorporate British Values, safeguarding themes and democratic principles, often supported by watching Newsround or reading the Picture News articles.

Our Singing Assemblies give children the chance to learn and rehearse songs with key themes. These sessions prepare pupils for our Proud Traditions events like The Big Sing, encouraging teamwork, confidence and creativity.

We deliver regular Online Safety lessons, based on the ‘Education for a Connected World’ framework whilst using resources from National Online Safety. With monthly themes, children are guided in developing safe and respectful online behaviours through structured discussions.

The highlight of the week is our Pride Celebration Assemblies in our School Hall, inclusive of a red carpet. It is during these assemblies where we unite as a school to recognise achievements, both big and small, from academic and personal milestones. Awards include certificates for demonstrating our Exhall Values, earning Dojo Points, achieving pen licences, and many more. We also proudly celebrate children’s accomplishments beyond the classroom, such as sporting, music or dancing achievements, with pupils invited to share their successes with the whole school community.

Together, these weekly experiences enrich our curriculum and help us foster a nurturing, inclusive and inspiring school environment, where our children can thrive.

Lunch Time Arrangements

Our School Meals are provided by Educaterers, offering nutritious and contemporary meal choices. A selection of three main meals are offered daily, including salad and desserts options. All our meals are nutritionally balanced over the course of our 4 week cycle.

Break Times

Children are encouraged to bring a healthy snack for breaktimes: these can include cereal bars, fruit and other healthy snacks.
