Stepping Back in Time: Y3 Stone Age Workshop

Our Year 3 children stepped back in time for an exhilarating Stone Age Workshop that greatly enriched their history learning.

The children had the fantastic opportunity to explore a range of authentic Stone Age artefacts, delving deep into the lives of our early ancestors and discovering just how they survived in the wild. They examined real animal bones and engaged in lively discussions about the hunting methods employed by Stone Age people, learning how resourcefulness was key - every part of an animal was utilised! 🦴🐂

Amazed by their discoveries, the children channelled their inspiration into creating intricate bone drawings, showcasing their artistic flair. The afternoon brought even more excitement as they crafted their very own spears and took part in an engaging archery session. 🏹

This hands-on experience allowed them to grasp the skills that our Stone Age predecessors relied on for hunting. 🙌

Throughout the day, the classes were entertained and enlightened by ‘Buh’ - a friendly homosapien who shared fascinating insights into Stone Age life. 🦣✨

Overall, it was a memorable day that not only brought history to life but also sparked a genuine interest in the children’s understanding of our ancient past!
