School Vision & OFSTED

Recent Ofsted Report

Dear Carers/Parents,

We have now received the final report from OFSTED following our inspection on 20th and 21st June 2023.

Previously, in July 2019, the school was judged as ‘Requires Improvement’ in all areas inspected. From this most recent inspection, the overall judgement continues to be ‘Requires Improvement’, however, two of the four judgement areas are now judged as GOOD.

The inspectors found many positive strengths within the school and were satisfied that the school is making progress towards ensuring high quality teaching and learning for your children. They said that the school ‘is a welcoming and happy place to learn. Pupils know that staff care about them and will help with any worries. Leaders have high expectations for behaviour and pupils meet them. They behave exceptionally well.’

OFSTED also praised the work the school is doing to protect pupils and keep them safe and that a lot of work is done to support children’s personal development and wellbeing. Inspectors identified that behaviour, both in lessons and around the school, is good and recognised that children are polite, have good manners, show respect for others and are helpful and courteous.

Obviously, inspectors also highlighted some key areas which require improvement centring around the school’s new curriculum, which was only recently implemented – ‘Leaders have thought about the knowledge and skills that pupils should have, they recognise that there is still more work to do to provide a consistently good quality of education.’

Whilst it is disappointing that the outcome of the inspection has found that the school remains Requires Improvement, it must be said that all staff in school remain committed to providing the best education for your children.

Now is the time to look forward and continue to address the highlighted areas of improvement that will ensure that your children receive the high quality education that they deserve in a safe environment where all children are supported to reach their potential. We hope that you as parents will continue to support us with this aim.

Kind regards,

Mr. R Mann - Headteacher

Ms Gardiner - Chair of Governors
